The Japan Autophagy Consortium, established in 2020, aims to industrialize the outcomes of autophagy research. It currently comprises 108 academic members and 37 corporate members. The consortium promotes awareness of autophagy and operates a certification system to ensure the quality of food materials related to autophagy activation. In recent years, autophagy dysfunction has been identified as a fundamental cause of aging, garnering global attention for its industrial potential. At exhibitions, the consortium and its member companies present specific activities aimed at establishing the foundation of the emerging autophagy industry.
